For our final project, we decided to create a top-down airplane shooter titled: Operation Hailstorm featuring me and Ashley Calmell as the artist and Zuocheng Li as the programmer. In Operation Hailstorm, you take control of a World War 2 American fighter plane tasked with shooting down hostile aircraft within the Pacific Theater. The gameplay involves you taking control of your designated aircraft from a top-down perspective. As an aircraft, you perpetually move forward but you do have the ability to slow down or speed up your forward movement with the up and down arrow keys. Additionally, you can use the left and right arrow keys to turn the plane in those directions. As you move through the air hostile planes will begin to come into view and attempt to crash into you in an attempt to end your game. Your job is to shoot them down by pressing the space button to fire a bullet from the front of your plane which can destroy the hostile plane before it gets to you. The main goal of this game is to destroy 30 planes without them getting to you as fast as possible with the added challenge that the planes move faster and get more numerous the more you shoot down until either 30 are dead and you win are they get to you and you lose.
